Welcome and Thank You

for

     Celebrating over 15 Years

of Success!!!

*** Beading, Networking, Learning, & Socializing ***

At the Greater Birmingham Bead Society, we believe bead societies have an important role to play, not only in the bead world, but also in the lives of its members. The enthusiasm, as well as expertise people bring to bead societies cannot be matched in any ordinary business endeavor.

The GBBS strives to further the education of both the beginning beader, as well as the advanced jewelry artist.

We meet on the second Thursday of every month at the OXMOOR COMMUNITY CENTER located at 1992 Wenonah Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, AL 35211.

Our meetings begin at 6:00 PM with a brief business overview and then our evening's program. Some of our meetings feature the "Beader Spotlight," which focuses on one of our Members and provides the opportunity for them to  showcase their talents.  While other meetings engage our members and visitors in "hands-on" projects" to try new techniques or our program may involve a lecture or "show & tell" by members and/or guest speakers.

To nudge and encourage our members creative growth, we have a quarterly "Bead Challenge" with varying themes. We encourage book, magazine, and bead/craft show reviews, and share information on the newest tools or gadgets.

Throughout the year, our GBBS Members support a variety of charitable organizations and community needs with their generous donations of time,  money, and finished jewelry items.
